Are you ready to finally start living without stress? Here are 3 really simple things you can do to help de-stress your body, which in turn helps improve your mood and sense of well-being.
Get magnesium
Over half of Americans are deficient in magnesium. This means many things for our bodies and minds, but the big one is that we experience more stress and anxiety. Magnesium is what allows us to calm down, feel relaxed and fall asleep. If we don’t have enough of this magic mineral we will be cluttered, busy and buzzing all day and night.
Eat these foods to up your numbers: dark leafy greens, dried herbs (like oregano, basil, parsley, coriander, chives), brown rice, dark chocolate, nuts seeds and beans! Be sure to soak, sprout or ferment your nuts, seeds and grains to increase digestibility!
Take a bath
There are so many reasons to indulge in a deliciously hot bath, and the best one is the release we experience both physically and emotionally. Soaking is comforting, relaxing and blissful. It’s also detoxifying to the body, and takes pressure off the muscles and bones.
Bath time bonus: if you add Epsom salts to your bath you now have another way to get your magnesium levels up, by absorbing it through your skin! Make it a sacred, ritualistic time to soak, relax and release. Add a few drops of frankincense EO and you’ll be feelin’ fine!
Drink more water
It’s amazing how doing such a simple thing can help us feel so much less stressed. Dehydration is actually one of the most common reasons for feelings of anxiety and over stressing. Keep your organs hydrated so they can do their job! A properly functioning body helps the mind be at ease.
To get a good idea of how much water you should be drinking, divide the number of your weight (in Lbs) by 2, and then divide that number by 8. This is how many cups I recommend you should drink per day.
Love, good vibes and less stress,
XOXO
